Soulful and laid-back house music. These mixes are slow and go nice ‘n deep.
Alternative Dance and Nu Disco styled mixtape here.
The “original” dubstep, nice and chilled. Ambient atmosphere with sub-bass vibes. Stuff for at the end of the night.
Downtempo breakbeat music. Funky and energetic
This style fuses steady Techno rhythms with the soul and accessibility of Deep House.
Full of melodies, yet pumping. Typical happy-mood festival music.
Melodic and bouncy house, often with remixes of old soulful tracks. Usually very vocal mixtapes.
At the roots of Dubstep lies Dub, with one foot in Reggae. This is a little more pepped than Chilled Dubstep, and often quite vocal.
Less bar-oriented and more focused on smooth instrumental synths and harmonic strings.
This style generally adheres to the motto less is more.
Not too slow ‘n groovy, not too heavy on the hit. Nice balanced house beats to vibe to.
The main Electro mood. Expressive beats and melodic or deep rolling basslines.
Stuttering synths and breaky beats. It’s downtempo Glitch music with a Hip-Hop soul.
At the roots of Drum & Bass, with big influences from Breakbeat, Dub and Reggae.
Characterized by repeating melodic phrases built up throughout the tracks. Usually more melodic than Techno, with harder beats than House.
Beeps, synth stabs and bubbling rhythm. Typical Dutch House vibes.
Filthy ‘wonky’ house music, with lots of quirky sounds and phat wobbling basslines.
Dubstep has taken a hard left turn lately, with powerful synths and chest-shaking basslines. Heavy artillery dubstep.
Typically light-hearted Drum & Bass, featuring vocal samples and loud melodic basslines.
Emphasizes on heavy drum beats. Techno arose from the melding of electronic music such as Funk, Electro, House and Electric Jazz.
Heavy hard-hitting house beats. Bangin’ on ya eardrums!
Heavy Electro House, with synths and basslines similar to Dubstep. Cross-overs between genres are not uncommon in both Dubstep and Hard Electro mixtapes.
Half-time Drum & Bass with heavy Dubstep-styled basslines and synths.
Welcome to the dark side. Techno-influenced Funk music with stabbing basslines and razor-sharp backbeats.
Hardstyle typically consists of a deep, hard-sounding kick drum, intense faded or reversed basslines accompanying the beat, a synth playing a melody, and detuned and distorted sounds.
